Garrigan's first uniforms for the girls were modeled at
the Mother Daughter Tea. The uniform included outfits
for a normal school day, gym class and formals. Boys did
not have a uniform, though they did have to follow a dress
Garrigan's first ever basketball and football teams are shown above. These athletes' hard work
helped lay the foundation for the exceptional sports program we have here at Garrigan today. The
varsity teams were named the Golden Bears, and the JV was called the Golden Cubs.
Joseph Mueller blessed the newly built
Bishop Garrigan High School before the first
classes were held there.
Paul Eisele and Sister Janet Goetz
were members of the first graduating class
here at Garrigan. After many years of
teaching at Garrigan and other Catholic
schools, Father Eisele is in charge of St.
Cecelia Parish in Algona, Iowa. Sr. Janet is
Garrigan's registrar today.
The fine arts department was busy. They put on a
Christmas recital, did the comedy Tish for their first
spring play, and sent a team to district speech
